Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo has talked on the struggles that Real has faced since the start of the new campaign, indicating towards the departures during the summer as a possible reason.
The defending La Liga and Champions League champions, has started off this season in poor form. Zidane’s men are 8 points behind table-toppers Barcelona, and have been under the pump ever since.
Real Madrid lost to Catalonian minnow Girona 2-1 over the weekend, making it their 2nd loss of the season, thus moving them to number 3 in the La Liga table.
In midweek, Real Madrid’s struggles were exploited by Tottenham Hotspur, who outclassed the Los Blancos 3-1 at Wembley.
Speaking after a 3-1 loss to Tottenham, Cristiano Ronaldo was questioned about the reason behind his side’s poor performances this season. Cristiano, who got Real’s only goal of the night, indicated the outgoing transfers of Pepe, Alvaro Morata and James Rodriguez over the summer as a possible reason. He insisted that even though the new youngsters that came into the team have potential, Real missed the big names.
Along with that, Ronaldo also highlighted Real Madrid’s injury problems this season, with players like Gareth Bale, Dani Carvajal, Mateo Kovacic, Keylor Navas, Raphael Varane, Marcelo and many others facing extended injury spells.
